Unreal Material Function Texture Inputs - UE4 Open World Tutorials #9

This is part 9 of the tutorial series I am doing on how to create an open world game with unreal engine.

In this episode, i'll explain how to apply textures to our landscape material. For now we had only colors to distinguish each landscape material layer. Now, Let's setup texture inputs and normal map inputs to our main material function which defines each material layer and use them to render landscape material layers.

Following video explains the main process you have to follow and only the things which require additional explanations are explained in the article.

Texture Input

Material Function : MF_Layer

Landscape Material :

Landscape Material Instance

Final Result

This is how the final result looks. As you can see, there is this horrible tiling effect. in the coming episodes, let's focus on how to avoid those tiling effects

Those are the points i thought would require further explanations.
